Scarification is used to grind high spots off concrete and remove tough flooring systems, including epoxy resurfacers and urethane elastomeric systems. In other words, scarification grinds away concrete, paint, topical coatings, or any stains so that a surface can be repaired or recoated.

Typical Scarification Applications

  • Paint Removal
  • Epoxy Removal
  • Epoxy Line Removal
  • Mastic Removal
  • Concrete
  • Inlay Traffic Lines

Scarification is also great for mastic and membrane removal, as polymer coating is meant to be removed and recoated every 10-15 years. In the video above, Shot Blast Inc. is removing membrane from a parking deck. See below for more images of the scarification equipment and process.
